I was just curious why it is that one of the busiest police departments in the county is also one of the lowest paid? I'm also curious why it is that the officers have been made to go almost four years without a contract and why the town board in their ingnorance expect the officers to stay and work under theses deplorable conditions. News flash Mr Ward-if you make the salary and working conditions competitive then the officers will stay.

It's time the town politicians and administration of the Police department stop pointing blame at disgruntle officers of the department. The blame can
longer be placed on the officers. The monitor has come and gone, the officers of the past are the minority or are no longer employed by the department.
It's time that the tax payers start asking the elected officials why? Why does the department have such high turn over? Why does the department pay for new
officers to go through the police academy on the Town of Wallkill dime and then transfer to other departments when they get off probation? Maybe the answer
lies in poor leadership and poor management. When will the elected officials start being accountable for this poor leadership. How about starting at the top.
The answer is easy. Hire a new Chief!
